When two people heard John the Baptizer say, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!", one of them, Andrew, after spending the day with Jesus, immediately went and told his brother, Simon Peter, saying, "We have found the Messiah" (John 1:35-41). I find that many middle class white people, of which I am one, have the majority of their experiences with very small gatherings and very large gatherings. They have one or two children. They have one or two friends, at most. If married they have one wife. They have a lot of time where they are alone either watching television or surfing on the internet. Husbands and wives spend a lot of time doing their own thing but often in close proximity to one another. They also have a lot of experience in large groups, if they are urban dwellers. They go to large sporting events, attend big churches and live in big cities. One becomes two and so on is the ticket. Gratefully! This is indeed very encouraging. This is the Church Jesus built! I have been teaching and preaching this same thought for several years! I believe this is the Jesus Model: Peter, James, and John were His two or three gathered. How arogant and how mis-guided we have been to think that we could improve upon the Jesus Model by our own imaginations! AwesomeStuff! This is the Church Jesus built!
